+ What is the MedicComs app?
The MedicComs app is a simple to use, secure, auditable and time saving technology developed for healthcare professionals.
It provides a simple, effective way to safely manage the prescribing and dispensing of medication by resolving medication issues quickly and helping to reduce prescription errors.
The app is supported by a web-based administration portal which gives you full control over user permissions and reporting.
+ Who created the MedicComs app?
The idea behind the MedicComs app originated from Northern Ireland based health-tech company Constentum.
Constentum is committed to supporting healthcare professionals so that they can deliver the very best care for their patients.
The MedicComs app was developed in conjunction with trusted suppliers and healthcare professionals and is based on published evidence, data and research.
+ How much does it cost?
You must be qualified to write or dispense prescriptions for human medicines to access this app.
The cost per qualified user will be £1 per day based on a 5-day week, once subscribed your team will benefit from other benefits - such as a free messenger service for your practice or pharmacy.
There is also an Administration Portal and depending upon the size of your organisation they may be another small cost to link all your locations under one central portal.

+ How do I get the app?
The MedicComs app is a subscription-based platform.
To subscribe to the MedicComs app, email support@mediccoms.com
Our support team will set-up your account and you can then download the app from the App Store or Google Play store to get started.
+ What do I need to use MedicComs?
Your organisation will need a mobile device with an internet connection to access both the app and the administration portal.
The app is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.

+ Who can use the MedicComs app??
The MedicComs app has been designed for healthcare professionals who prescribe or manage the prescription of medications in Pharmacies, GP Practices and Care Homes.
Its messaging feature can also be used by your organisation’s support staff – helping keep work-related communications in one place.
+ What are cases?
The MedicComs app, never seen before Case feature allows you to open, assign and resolve prescription queries using a unique patient identifier.
The Cases feature works in real-time and saves clinical time making, or responding to, non-secure and non-recorded phone calls.
All opened, assigned and resolved Cases are time and date stamped and offer non-repudiation.
Cases are discussed and resolved all in one place.
+ Who can create or assign a Case?
Your organisation’s administrator has the ability to set permissions to create or assign Cases for all users with a simple toggle on/toggle off in the web-based admin portal.
+ What is the Messenger feature?
Simple to use, with everything you would expect in any messaging app, our Messenger feature allows you to have one-to-one and group discussions about non-patient related topics.
Helping you build great community and colleague connections, while keeping all work-related communications in one place.
+ What is the MedicComs web-based portal?
Our web-based portal supports efficient demand and workload management through the ability to easily toggle permissions for your users.
It also offers real-time data analysis and reporting to help monitor efficiency, perform better audits and plan ahead. The portal works independently of any existing NHS platforms currently being used.

+ Where is MedicComs being hosted?
MedicComs is being hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
+ Can we self-host MedicComs?
No. MedicComs is an App and its admin portal is a cloud-based web service.
+ Is MedicComs reliable and secure?
Yes. MedicComs has a time limited login with two-factor authentication to protect your patients’ privacy.
MedicComs is GDPR compliant and provides ongoing Cyber Security within NCSC Accreditation.
+ Where is the data stored?
The data is stored securely on the Cloud and it is also stored on the user's device for up to 30 days.
+ Where does MedicComs back up the data?
The data is backed up securely at rest on the Cloud.
+ Are the Cases & Messages encrypted?
Both are full encrypted at both ends and are further secured for non-repudiation by a unique "Case" number and additional security on the Cloud.
